This a fresh and delicious American Chinese restaurant. I love how the menu indicates which chicken dishes use all breast and which are thigh so you don't have to guess. All their veggies are crisp and not drowning in sauce. The menu isn't too long or exotic (though I'm biased by not being able to eat the unique shrimp dishes), but once you order one dish you will likely keep wanting to go back for the same thing. The only reason I go to any other Chinese restaurant in town is that this one is a little far away from me. Prices are a steal for the quality.

The food here is well above average for a Chinese restaurant. It is not gourmet Chinese, but the ingredients are fresh and the quality is good. The meat in the dishes is cut so that you can actually see and taste it rather than the small strips of grizzly meat often found in Chinese restaurants. The vegetables are bright and crispy, not soggy. Service is always good, although the waiters often are not overly fluent in English. Extra food is promptly and carefully placed in take home containers.

When Neo-China opened it was exciting... fresh food, contemp. athmosphere, lighter flavors. Now, well, it's still a cut above the rest but not as fresh, certainly not exciting. Service is typical Chinese speed-service but with trolleys vs. tray, bar is typical Chinese afterthought = but fast, cheap good food is why we're here, right?

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Durham. My favorite dish is the walnut chicken entree, but now that I'm on a diet, I appreciate the steamed dishes (made without salt or MSG) a lot. The steamed vegetables are yummy!

I enjoyed everything I had while I was here. Try the lobster... It's great!
